Frequently asked questions (2)Most of the year, the Royal PalaceAmsterdam is open for visitors. Please always have a look at theagendafor actual opening hours. The Palace may be closed due to a royal event.

Tickets can bepurchasedat the ticket desk of the Palace andonline. Choose the date and starting time for your visit, this will be shown on your ticket.

Can I pay with cash at the ticket desk in the Palace?

It is only possible to pay with debit card or credit card.

Can I use my I Amsterdam City Card to visit the Palace?

The I Amsterdam Card is not valid in the Palace.

Do carers of disabled visitors get free admission?

Yes, admission is free for carers of disabled visitors who would not be able to visit the Palace alone (maximum: 1 carer per visitor). A ticket is not required.

There is no barcode on my ticket for Museumkaart / ICOM card. Is that correct?

Yes, this is correct. The ticket is your proof of reservation and shows the date and time for your visit. Your Museumkaart will be scanned on entering the Palace.

I would like to cancel my online tickets, what should I do?

Tickets purchased online cannot be refunded.

Can I buy a Museumcard at the ticket desk?

No, Museumcards are not available at the Palace's ticket desk.

How much time does a visit to the Palace take?

On average, a visit will take about an hour.

Which rooms are open to the public?

You can visit the most important rooms of the Palace. Almost all rooms on the main floor (first floor) can been seen, among which the impressive Citizens’ Hall, the Throne Room, Balcony Chamber and the Mozes Hall. On the ground floor, the Tribunal is open to the public.

Can I book a multimediatour in advance?

It is not possible to book a multimediatour. A multimediatour is free, subject to availability.

In which languages is the multimediatour available?

A multimediatour is available in several languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and Russian.

Can I take my bag into the Palace?

It is not allowed to bring umbrellas, backpacks and bags. It is also not allowed to bring baby carriers or other large items. You can hand these items over at the cloak room. Baby strollers, wheelchairs, walkers and walking sticks are permitted.

Can I bring my dog into the Palace?

Animals are not permitted, with the exception of guide dogs.

Are there facilities for visitors with a disability or special needs?

The Palace is easily accessible to visitors with special needs and wheelchair users. Facilities include: a lift, wheelchair-accessible toilets, wheelchairs and walking sticks. A guide book is available free of charge for deaf or hard-of-hearing visitors at the ticket desk (English, German, French, Spanish, Italian).

Can I take photographs or make video recordings during my visit?

Photography is allowed without flash. Filming, vlogging, or the use of tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed.

Can we have lunch or coffee at the Palace?

No, there are no cafe facilities inside the Palace. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to be found in the immediate neighbourhood.

Can I make wedding photographs in the Palace?

No, it is not permitted to make wedding photographs in the Palace.

If there is an exhibition, will I still be able to see the Palace?

Yes. during exhibitions, the rest of the Palace will remain open to the public.
