Vault Seals
One of Minecraft's most popular Curseforge mods, Vault Hunters, relies on several mechanics to keep gameplay fresh and interesting despite its grindy nature. One of these mechanics, Vault Modifiers, can make or break your run. However, what modifiers are available, and are they always random? This guide has all the answers you need.

Vault Modifiers Explained
Vault Modifiers are things that keep the vaulting experience from becoming stale. A standard vault will roll two modifiers when you enter the portal (usually one positive and one negative). These random modifiers aren't the end of it, however - you can also control which modifiers your crystal has with catalysts.
Vault Catalysts
Vault Catalysts are crafted items that allow you to add modifiers to your vault crystal in a more directed manner. Each Catalyst will add a couple of predetermined modifiers to a crystal - try pairing different Catalysts and crystals to see your options.
To craft a Catalyst, you will need:
- Six Catalyst Fragments
- Two Perfect Beniotite
- One Perfect Alexandrite
You can change the modifiers added in a particular catalyst crystal combination by rerolling the catalyst. To reroll a catalyst, add a Perfect Alexandrite to the catalyst using an anvil.
Vault Inhibitors
Vault Inhibitors (crafted by adding a Perfect Echo Gem to a catalyst on the anvil) can remove a modifier from your Vault Crystal. Each time you use a Vault Inhibitor, you have a chance to exhaust the crystal.
An exhausted crystal is one which has had too many things added to it, and will no longer accept inhibitors, catalysts, or seals. You can see the chance that the crystal will become exhausted when placing the addition and the crystal in the anvil.
How To Add Vault Modifiers
Vault Modifiers are added to a crystal by combining a Catalyst and a Vault Crystal on the anvil. You can see which modifiers would be added by placing both items in the anvil and hovering over the end product.

Vault Seals
Vault Seals are attached like vault modifiers are - through the anvil. However, these are special modifiers because they determine the objective of the vault.
There are currently 6 seals to craft in Vault Hunters, although the Seal of the Challenger currently has no purpose. Of the other five, two are special vault types. The others are the standard vault objectives (minus monoliths).
