SYNOPSIS
Strong high pressure centered southeast of the New England coastwill sink southward over the western Atlantic waters east of theMid Atlantic coast today with continued small craft advisoryconditions locally. Weak troughing over the area waters will helpto bring occasional showers and an isolated thunderstorm to thewaters. Tonight, a weak low passing just north of the Bahamas withsome disorganized showers and thunderstorm activity will movewestward into the local waters as the high to the north shiftsfurther east into the western Atlantic. The weak low will moveonshore early Friday morning and shift west through the daytowards the northeast Gulf of Mexico. The pressure gradientbetween the high to the northeast and the low moving through theregion will continue small craft advisory conditions through muchof Friday before the pressure gradient relaxes as the low departsand the high weakens to the east northeast near Bermuda intoFriday night leading to diminishing winds and seas. Seabreezecirculations will create increasing coverage of showers andthunderstorms along the coast and local waters this weekend aslight southeast flow prevails. A cold front will approach earlynext week with winds becoming more southerly and elevated chancesfor showers and thunderstorms.
